DISBURSEMENTS
Disbursements are costs related to your matter that are payable to third parties such as court fees. We organise the payment of the disbursements on your behalf to ensure a stress-free seamless process.

TIMESCALES
ESTATES WHERE NO IHT IS PAYABLE
On average for straight forward estates, we would hope to receive a Grant of Probate within 3-4 months. The finalisation of the estate and resulting payment to beneficiaries then follows, timings very much depend on what assets need to be recouped and whether there is a property to be sold.
MORE COMPLEX ESTATE
All the average more complex states adult with within 9 to 12 months he'll stop it usually takes between 6 new weeks to gather the information leading up to the application, obtaining the granted probate takes up to 12 weeks once the application is lodged with the probate registry. Collecting assets that normally take between six and eight weeks. At this stage and the state account can be finalised and assets can be distributed which normally takes between one to two weeks. However, please be aware that timing can greatly depend on factors such as sale of any property, shares etc.

LASTING POWER OF ATTORNEY FEES

Reduced or No Fees for LPAs
In some cases, the donor may qualify for a reduced OPG fee or no fee.
No Fee — Exemption
The donor may pay no registration fee if they receive certain means-tested benefits, such as Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, income-based Employment and Support Allowance, Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction/Support, Local Housing Allowance, or the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit.
Reduced Fee — Remission
The donor may be entitled to a 50% reduction if their gross annual income is below the OPG threshold. Universal Credit cases may also be considered under the remission rules.
Hardship
Where the donor does not meet the standard exemption or remission criteria, the OPG may still waive or reduce the fee in cases of financial hardship, provided supporting evidence is supplied.
